He may be a certified "millionaire" but the Philippine entertainment industry's "bossing" is keeping his feet firm on the ground.
In a press conference for the sixth season of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire," on Monday, May 2, Vic Sotto shared that it is not fortune but being contented in life that ultimately gives happiness to a person.
With his experience as a game show host where millions of pesos can be given away, Vic said people who have tendencies to give in to greed usually goes home with less or nothing at all.
"As much as possible I try to help in a way na hindi naman obvious kasi I like to be fair with all contestants. As much as possible I try to maintain yung mukha, or mararamdaman mo eh. Pag may dumating eh di ayos! Kung hindi naman eh salamat ka na rin lang at meron ka kahit papano," he said.
He however clarified that being contented doesn't mean that we have to stop striving to achieve our goals in life. As successful as he is, the actor-host said he still have plans to achieve more good things in the future.
"Marami pa akong gustong gawin hangga't kaya ko. More beautiful movies, more meaningful TV shows, more public service, more love. Hindi ka dapat makuntento eh I mean yes you have to be contented with what you have pero it doesn't mean na okay na ako. Kailangan tuloy-tuloy."
Happy being single
Despite nagging rumors that Vic has a new girlfriend or that the actor-host is getting back together with ex-girlfriend Pia Guanio, Vic maintains that he is happy being single.
I enjoy my kids, I enjoy my grandchildren.
Vic also belied rumors that he now has a relationship with a flight attendant.
"Tagal na nun eh. Yung dating girlfriend ko before Pia flight attendant. Siguro medyo nagulo lang yung timeframe nila," Vic clarified.
Vic on network 'rivalry'
Vic is among the select few who have access to all the major television networks in the country. He regularly appears on GMA 7's "Eat Bulaga," TV5's "Laugh or Lose" and "Ang Darling Kong Aswang" and his recent movie was "Pak! Pak! My Doctor Kwak!" was co-produced by Star Cinema, ABS-CBN's film arm. Asked to comment on the ongoing network "wars," Vic had this to say.
"Hindi mawawala yung eh kasi it's part of the business. As long as friendly and good competition. It's good for the industry. It's good for people working in the industry. MOre shows more work, more movies. It helps a lot of people. So ung competition hindi mawawala yun and I'm hoping hindi mawawala."
The new season of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" will air on May 15, Sunday, 6:30pm on TV5. The program will be introducing two more life lines: People Speak and Switch giving studio contestants and the audience a greater chance to win cash prizes of up to two million pesos.
