Ryan O'Neal tried to hit on his daughter Tatum twice

Ryan O'Neal tried to hit on his daughter Tatum twiceRyan O'Neal tried to hit on his daughter twice.

The 70-year-old actor famously tried to flirt with Tatum O'Neal during his long-term partner Farrah Fawcett's funeral in 2009—claiming he didn't know who she was—but the former child star admits it wasn't the first time he had done it.
She said: "My father doesn't really remember what I look like. He sees blond hair, a black dress, and to him, that's just a chick. A girl. He didn't know it was me, so he kind of swooped in, and I had to remind him he was 70, and I was his daughter. That's the second time that's happened to me with him, but you know, he lives in another world."

While the father and daughter don't have the closest of relationships, they are starring in a new reality TV show together—Ryan and Tatum: The O'Neals—but Tatum admits it didn't have the desired effect she wanted.

The 47-year-old actress—who has written two books about her troubled life—told website the Daily Beast: "The term 'reality show' is really scary because there's been some really bad programming.

"What we did was something very different. It's deep. I sort of thought it would be fun to work with my dad again, in some weird way.

"He's never yet said he's the guy that I've portrayed him as in my book—first book or second book—so I thought perhaps he'd have that 'aha moment' and he'd be like, 'You know what, I'm really sorry, Tatum. You didn't have to have the life you had, and I'm here, and I take responsibility.' That didn't happen. But oh well. I think it's interesting television."

Nigel Lythgoe, So You Think You Can Dance judge and chairman of BAFTA in Los Angeles, said: "Being given the opportunity of meeting Hollywood's elite will provide a highly significant and beneficial moment for them."

During their time in California from July 8-10, William and Catherine will also be attending a meet-and-greet with senior U.S. politicians at the Consular General's Los Angeles residence, as well as visiting an arts-based program, which assists disadvantaged and homeless children.

Crystal Harris calls off wedding to Hugh Hefner because of "second thoughts"

Crystal Harris calls off wedding to Hugh Hefner because of "second thoughts"Crystal Harris decided to call off her wedding to Hugh Hefner because she had been having "second thoughts" for some time.

The 25-year-old blonde beauty and the 85-year-old Playboy magazine founder cancelled their nuptials yesterday (June 15) just days before the ceremony was due to take place on Saturday (June 18), and the model has revealed she had been wracked with doubts about the marriage before the decision was made. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show on Wednesday morning (June 15), she said: "I called it off because I didn't think it was the right thing for me to do... For a while I've been having second thoughts about everything. I haven't really been at peace with myself lately. I didn't think it was really fair to him."

Crystal is adamant the decision to cancel the nuptials was made jointly by her and Hugh and there was no fight, as had been reported, they just "talked about it."

One thing that added to Crystal's anxieties was that the wedding was going to be filmed by US TV network Lifetime for a special program on their big day.

She said: "They were gonna air a show on it. It was all happening too fast for me. I just thought about it and thought, 'Was this what I wanted?'"

Despite what has happened, Crystal—who embarrassingly appears on the front cover of the new issue of Playboy next to the tag line "America's Princess, Introducing Mrs. Crystal Hefner"—firmly believes they will remain friends in the future.

She added: "We both agreed that it's not in the cards for us. We had a long talk about it. I feel happy and at peace that everything will be OK, and I respect him more than anything, and we're still going to be really close."

Since the split, Hugh—who has been married twice before—has been comforted by his ex-girlfriends Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson, who once jointly lived with him at the Playboy Mansion.

He revealed: "Bridget Marquardt came by to give me her loving support. Very dear."

While mother-of-one Kendra—who is now married to NFL player Hank Baskett—wrote on her twitter page: "We r comin over w some jack n coke. Oh, n a pipe lol. (sic)"

Natalie Portman gives birth to a baby boy

Natalie Portman gives birth to a baby boyNatalie Portman has become a mother for the first time.

The Oscar-winning actress—who is engaged to choreographer Benjamin Millepied—gave birth to a baby boy, although no further details have been released.

The couple met on the set of Black Swan and while they were thrilled at the news Natalie was expecting, she recently revealed they refused to buy any baby stuff until the tot arrived because of her Jewish upbringing. She said: "I think it's a Jewish thing to be kind of superstitious. You don't do any of the baby stuff before the baby arrives."

However, one thing Natalie did do during her pregnancy was give up veganism.

The 30-year-old star became vegetarian when she was eight, and further eliminated all animal products from her diet in 2009, but re-introduced dairy to her diet since becoming pregnant.

She said: "I actually went back to being vegetarian when I became pregnant, just because I felt like I wanted that stuff.

"I was listening to my body to have eggs and dairy and that sort of stuff. I know there are people who do stay vegan, but I think you have to just be careful, watch your iron levels and your B12 levels and supplement those if there are things you might be low in your diet."

Throughout her pregnancy Natalie paid tribute to her parents Avner and Shelley Hershlag, saying she hoped to look after her child in the same way that she was brought up.

She said: "If I am a shadow as good a parent, an echo, then I will be the best in the world, so thank you."

Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris cancel their wedding

Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris cancel their weddingHugh Hefner and his fiancƩe Crystal Harris have called off their wedding.

The couple have decided to cancel their nuptials just five days before they were due to tie the knot on Saturday (June 18) at the Playboy Mansion. According to TMZ.com, 85-year-old Hugh and Crystal, 25, had a huge argument over the phone last weekend which resulted in the blonde model moving herself and her belongings out of the mansion.

Everything had been in place for the wedding, which was to be attended by over 300 guests.

Crystal had picked a pink Romona Keveza gown to wear and the flower arrangements had been selected to match the dress. Guests were looking forward to enjoying a lavish meal, finished off with a Torrance Baker strawberry cake.

Hugh's spokesperson Kellie Olisky previously said: "No expense is being spared for the wedding. It isn't even a compromise, because Hef wants Crystal to have the wedding of her dreams.

"Hef asked that the flowers be bursting with color and this will look great with Crystal's lighter colored theme everywhere else."

Crystal's two sisters and Playmate Anna Berglund were supposed to have been bridesmaids, while Hugh's brother Keith and the media mogul's sons Marston, 20, and Cooper, 19, had been asked to form the groom's party.

Hugh has been married twice before.

He wed his first wife Mildred Williams—with whom he has two children, daughter Christie, 58, and son David, 55—in 1949 before divorcing her 1959.

He then he tied the knot with one-time Playboy Playmate Kimberley Conrad—the mother of Marston and Cooper—in 1989, before filing for divorce 11 years later, although the separation was only finalised in March 2010.

Russell Crowe apologizes for circumcision remarks

Russell Crowe apologizes for circumcision remarks
Russell Crowe has apologized for criticising circumcision.

The Oscar-winning actor claimed the practice of cutting off a boy's foreskin—a Jewish religious requirement, a common Muslim practice, and a standard procedure on newborns in the US—was "barbaric and stupid" but has now said sorry for any offense he caused. He wrote on his twitter page: "I'm very sorry that I have said things on here that have caused distress.

"My personal beliefs aside, I realize that some will interpret this... as me mocking rituals and traditions of others. I am very sorry."

Russell—who has two sons, Charlie, seven, and Tennyson, four, with wife Danielle Spencer—had previously tweeted: "Circumcision is barbaric and stupid. Who are you to correct nature? Is it real that GOD requires a donation of foreskin? Babies are perfect. (sic)"

The tweet was in response to one of Russell's 228,000 followers, who asked his advice as to whether they should get their unborn baby "circumstanced (sic)".

This prompted Russell to reply: "Here's a life rule, if you can't spell it, don't do it. (sic)"

After being criticized by a number of his followers, Russell was quick to defend his viewpoint and make it clear he is not anti-Semitic.

He said: "Many jewish friends, I love my Jewish friends, I love the apples and the honey and the funny little hats but stop cutting your babies @eliroth (sic)"

The Gladiator star is currently working with director Eli Roth on a new film, who replied to his tweet, joking: "You didn't seem to be complaining when I was recutting you this afternoon. (sic)"

Bono admits Spider-Man musical "didn't work" but only at first

Bono admits<em> Spider-Man</em> musical "didn't work" but only at firstBono admits Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark initially "didn't work."

The Broadway musical—the most expensive in history—has been hit by many problems since the first preview shows in November 2010 but the U2 frontman, who wrote all the music and lyrics for the production along with bandmate The Edge, is confident they have finally got it right. He said: "The first incarnation was an amazing thing to behold. It was very innovative. There was magic about it. But the story didn't work.

"I'd say we're about 10 percent away from where the show will be."

The Edge added: "But as they say, Broadway shows are never finished—they just open."

After all of the delays and issues surrounding the musical—including storyline alterations, cast and crew changes, and injuries—Bono is now looking forward to being able to relax and watch it as an ordinary customer when it finally opens to the public tonight (June 14, New York time).

Speaking at the weekend, he told the USA Today newspaper: "I think the harshest critics have been people involved with this show. I'm tired of that role. There are a few more things I want to do, but on Tuesday, I'm going as a fan. I'm just going to give myself to it."

The "With or Without You" hitmaker also praised the musical's stuntman Christopher Tierney—who was in critical condition in December after falling almost 10 meters into the orchestra pit during a preview performance—as a "rock star" for his dedication to the show, which he is set to return to tonight.

Bono said: "Some real superheroes have emerged. I always feel like I'm pretending to be a rock star for a living. Chris Tierney is a rock star."

Sylvester Stallone inducted into boxing Hall of FameSylvester Stallone has been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

The American actor—who is not a professional boxer—was honored for the contribution to the sport of his Rocky films, in which he plays a small-time fighter who gets a shot at the world heavyweight championship.

Sylvester told the New York ceremony: "I never pretended to be a boxer, but I have an understanding of what goes on outside the ring." The 64-year-old actor has starred in six Rocky movies—the first of which was released in 1976 and saw Sylvester nominated for an Oscar for his performance—culminating in 2006 movie Rocky Balboa.

Mike Tyson was also inducted into the New York-based hall of fame, which features boxing legends Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, and Sugar Ray Robinson.

But Sylvester has recently moved away from the ring and has turned his hand to fashion designing.

He is set to create his own men's lifestyle brand entitled Sly Inc.—which will feature jeans, shirts, outwear and active wear, targeting men between 25 and 40 years old, to be launched next year.

He previously said: "I thought the time is now. I've lived a life where I know what has worked and what hasn't worked. Clothing is the first step to building a character."
