Biography

A critically acclaimed actor who skyrocketed to fame and popularity with the movie Aishite Imasu, Dennis Trillo currently works with GMA Network.

Born Abelardo Dennis Florencio Ho on 12 May 1981 in Quezon City, he is the currently counted amongst the best and most credible actors of the contemporary Philippine cinema. The eldest of 3 siblings, Dennis belongs to a well-off family, has had the privilege of acting the Ateneo de Manila University, and had a degree in International Studies from Miriam College.

ABS-CBN Network’s artist machinery show Star Circle (now known as Star Magic) is responsible for discovering Dennis as a talent youngster almost 5 years ago in 2001.The TV soap opera Sa Dulo ng Walang hanggan marked Dennis’ very first appearance and in this soap, he played the friend of one of the star leads. However, Dennis went unnoticed as an actor.

Soon after Dennis, decided to move to GMA Networks and this decision proved extremely beneficial for him. Soon he was cast and acting in many television series such as Twin Hearts, Kahit Kailan, and Love to Love. Continuing his contract with GMA, Dennis was well on his way to achieving unprecedented success and popularity with popular fantasy themed TV serial called Mulawin, where he played one of the leading stars. The serial was a huge hit with the children and adults alike.

With the release of his debut feature film Aishite Imasu: 1941, Dennis was able to prove that he was not just good-looking but also talented. Dennis won lot of rave reviews for his character as a cross-dressing spy during the Japanese invasion in the wake of World War II and won numerous awards, including the 30th Metro Manila Film Festival Award for the Best Supporting Actor and the Film Academy of Philippines’ Best Actor Trophy, the PMPC Star Awards for Movies and the Young Critics Circle.

In 2005, Dennis worked hard to solidify his position as an actor of repute when he became part of some of the best and popular hit TV series, which included various genres such as drama. In the same year, Dennis worked in the film Blue Moon along with award-winning actors.
