The rapper says the 62-year-old actor, who is famed for his roles in Pulp Fiction, Unbreakable and Snakes on a Plane, is overlooked as one of the greatest Hollywood stars. The American star, real name Curtis James Jackson III, can't understand why the legendary actor is yet to claim an award at the prestigious annual Academy Awards.
“Samuel L. Jackson is probably the most underrated actor. Like he’s trying to go for the world record of underrated. He deserves an Academy look,” he said in an interview with Vibe magazine.
Samuel, who has only been nominated for one Oscar, for his role in 1994 film Pulp Fiction, has been vocal about his disapproval of rappers embarking on careers in Hollywood.
50 Cent has recently branched out into movies. The 35-year-old, who famously lost 54 lbs for his role in Things Fall Apart, insists he understands Samuel’s frustration.
"He said something about me earlier. I was a fan of him before and after he said it. You understand, if you are that passionate... That person has disciplined himself and trained himself,” he explained. “I'm with Sam: I don't want to be in no movie with no damn rapper."
