Christina Aguilera's divorce has been finalized.
The pop star's marriage to music executive Jordan Bratman was legally ended yesterday (April 15) in California after the required six-month waiting period from the date divorce papers were filed by Christina in October 2010 had elapsed.
The former couple had already finalized a settlement in February and had agreed to share custody of their three-year-old son, Max, although the specific terms of their care agreement have not been made public.
It is believed they divided their assets according to their prenuptial agreement.
Christina—who is now dating 25-year-old Matt Rutler, who she met when he worked as an assistant on her film Burlesque—recently admitted she has learned to laugh about the "hiccups" in her personal life.
The singer-and-actress—who was arrested for public intoxication along with Matt in March—previously said: "I can laugh about my own hiccups and my own experiences in life because I'm getting through it ... In light of the past year, there have been obvious setbacks. I've gone through a really hard divorce, and anyone who has gone through a divorce will speak about how hard the journey is from start to finish. It's a life-uprooting time and there have been hiccups along the way that unfortunately the whole world gets to witness and judge."
