Filipino singing sensation Charice Pempengco will soon put a new single out called “Before It Explodes.” Although there is no official word yet from Pempengco’s camp, according to Amazon.com and as reported on “TV Patrol” on April12, the song will be released worldwide on April 18.
More, reports from abscbnnews.com said the song was written and produced by Bruno Mars, the half-Filipino, half-Puerto Rican singer/songwriter famous for writing the hits “Just the Way You Are” and “Billionaire,” among others.
Meanwhile, Bomboradyo.com also reported that singer Leah Salonga also made mention of the Mars-Pempengco collaboration on Twitter by re-tweeting the info sent to her.
Pempengco is the second singer to do a version of “Before It Explodes.”
The song was first sung by singer Alexandra Burke, the Season 5 winner of the British hit reality show, “X-Factor.” However, Burke is yet to release a recorded version of the song, which incidentally also features Mars.
“Before It Explodes” will reportedly be part of Pempengco’s second album and a preview is currently available on Amazon.com. Meanwhile, Burke’s version has also been uploaded on YouTube.
Pempengco is currently in the US and is purportedly working on her next much-awaited appearance in the hit US musical series “Glee.”
According to online reports, Charice will return to “Glee” in the second season’s 17th episode, entitled “A Night of Neglect.” An article on the site phillippines.broadwayworld.com also claimed her local record label also made the same announcement. If true, fans might be able to catch Sunshine Corazon in the episode airing April 19 in the US (April 20 in the Philippines).
Mars, on the other hand, was in the country recently for successful concerts in Cebu and Manila.
