The world may be shocked but Paquiao will be defeated - Nacho

nacho beristainGUADALAJARA - Mexico's greatest trainer, Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain, believes the time is now to defeat Manny Pacquiao. Marquez challenges Pacquiao for the WBO welterweight title on November 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. After guiding Juan Carlos Salgado to a title win last Saturday against Argenis Mendez, Beristain flew back to his gym in Mexico City on Sunday to continue the training camp with Marquez.

After 24 rounds and two controversial endings, Nacho expects Marquez to finally come through in the third and final meeting.

"Everything I do now is point to JuanMa and to beating Manny Pacquiao on Nov. 12," Beristain told me at the airport here. "The world may be shocked but Pacquiao will be defeated. He has a lack of focus and JuanMa will take advantage of this. Being a fighter, a Congressman, a singer, all of this, will finally catch up to Manny.

"Pacquiao is a great one, yes, but no other fighter knows him, after 24 rounds, like my fighter does. You will see a great explosion by Marquez on this night."

Manny Paquiao back in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Lawmaker and sports icon Manny Pacquiao has arrived in Manila after wrapping up a press tour together with his next opponent Juan Manuel Marquez in the US and in Mexico.

The eight-division world champion arrived on board Philippine Airlines flight PR 103.

The press tour that promoted Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 fight lasted for a week. The two boxers went around New York, Los Angeles and even in Mexico where the Pinoy pride was warmly welcomed.

The much-awaited rematch between Pacquiao and Marquez will happen on November 12 in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao declined to comment on his alleged plan to run for vice president in the 2016 elections.

“Huwag na muna nating pag-usapan 'yan. Boxing lang muna tayo, boxing lang,” Pacquiao said. The Filipino boxer is the representative of Saranggani province in the Lower House.

However, even if Pacquiao indeed plans to run, he is not eligible to do so because of the age requirement.

The 1987 Constitution provides that candidates should be at least 40 years of age on election day. Pacquiao will only be 37 years old in May 2016.

Paquiao has the greatest jab according to Roach

MANILA, Philippines - In the middle of a smooth, three-hour flight from Toluca, Mexico to Los Angeles the other day, Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach worked on their game plan.

Pacquiao, in a shirt and tie, was having an animated chat with a couple of scribes, throwing right hooks, jabs and uppercuts to the air when his trainer got off his seat.

“You know, you have the greatest jab in the world,” said Roach.

Pacquiao, at the tailend of the hectic World Press Tour for his Nov. 12 date with old nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez, paused to face his trainer.

“But you’re not using it often. You’re not using it well,” Roach continued.

Bob Arum was playing card games on his iPad, enjoying the comforts of the gold-trimmed 11-seater Gulfstream jet, as the discussion went on.

Michael Koncz, the boxer’s adviser, was going through documents three inches thick while the boxer’s lawyer, Geng Gacal, and second, Roger Fernandez, dozed off.

What Roach was actually saying was that if Pacquiao floored Marquez many times with his left hand in their first two fights, then it’s time to give the Mexican a taste of his right.

“I feel my right hand is much stronger now,” said Pacquiao.

“Yes,” said Roach as Pacquiao jabbed the air a couple more times.

“Your jab is as strong as a straight. You can knock this guy (Marquez) out with your jab anytime,” Roach said.

Pacquiao listened hard.

During the New York leg of the 25,000-mile press tour, Arum recognized Roach’s tremendous effort in turning Pacquiao into a two-handed fighter.

“With the help of Freddie Roach, he became a complete package. He used to be a southpaw that relied completely on the left hand,” Arum said.

“Now he’s become a two-handed fighter, and he’s a much smarter fighter now than he was then,” the 79-year-old promoter said.

Marquez is going to face the best Pacquiao ever.

Brad Pitt "pretended" his marriage to Jennifer Aniston was "something that it wasn't."

The Moneyball actor—who was married to former Friends star Jennifer from 2000 to 2005—thinks his life before his relationship with Angelina Jolie started to feel "pathetic" because he spent a lot of time smoking marijuana and "hiding."

He said: "I spent the '90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself.

"I think that my marriage [to Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

However, the 47-year-old actor, now lives a much happier life with Angelina Jolie and their six children—Maddox, 10; Pax, 7; Zahara, 6; Shiloh, 5, and three-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

He said: "One of the greatest, smartest things I ever did was give my kids Angie as their mum. She is such a great mum. Oh man, I'm so happy to have her."

Brad also reveals he has found being a parent easy because he always trusts his instincts.

He added to Parade magazine: "I was surprised at how automatic it is, how much of it is instinctual. And now I have great confidence and trust in those instincts.

"I mean, one sound at night and you're awake and up because they may need you. Or when they start to have a tantrum, you know to divert them from spinning out by helping them focus on something. It just goes on and on.

"I tell them, "You can make a mess, but you've got to clean it up.'"

Ryan Gosling "embarrassed" by hero status

Ryan Gosling "embarrassed" by hero statusRyan Gosling is "embarrassed" he broke up a street fight.

The Notebook actor—who was deemed a hero after the good deed in New York last month—wishes he had kept his "nose out" as his involvement in the incident, which later went viral on the Internet, just made the whole situation "weirder."

He told MTV News: "I'm embarrassed. I think that guy really was stealing that other guy's painting, so I should have just kept my nose out of it.

"So he finally steals the painting, and then he's getting his ass kicked by his hero, and then the guy from The Notebook shows up and makes it weirder.

"It's just, the whole thing, nobody wins, nobody won... I had just come from the gymnasium, and I was all stretched out and feeling warmed up. So, I'm embarrassed."

However, it is unlikely Ryan could have ticked breaking up a fight off his to-do list following the incident, as he recently admitted he stopped setting himself goals when he reached the age of 30.

He said: "Do I set goals for myself? Not really. I think now that I'm 30 I'm more comfortable. Maybe it's because I'm playing characters that are older, so it is easier to find good material. But I also have more control, I think."

Reese Witherspoon hit by a car while jogging

Reese Witherspoon hit by a car while joggingReese Witherspoon was hit by a car while jogging yesterday (September 7).

The Oscar-winning actress was in Santa Monica, near Los Angeles, when the vehicle struck her while traveling at around 20 miles per hour. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police Sergeant Richard Lewis said: "The initial investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle, an 84-year-old female resident of Santa Monica, was traveling southbound and struck a female pedestrian jogging westbound within an unmarked crosswalk."

The driver of the car was given a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The Walk the Line star's spokesperson, Nanci Ryder, told E! News she was not seriously hurt in the accident and is now "resting comfortably at home."

Earlier this year, Reese—who has two children, Ava, 12, and Deacon, 8, with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe—had to wear a soft cast on her left foot after badly twisting her ankle.

Thankfully, that injury happened after her March wedding to Hollywood agent Jim Toth, during which she wore a pair of skyscraper heels, although she was quick to swap them for cowboy boots at her reception as they were more comfortable for her to dance in.

Justin Bieber pranks Taylor Swift

Justin Bieber tricked Taylor Swift into thinking she'd set fire to a boat and ruined a wedding.

The "Never Say Never" hitmaker managed to convince the singer she'd ruined a couple's big day in an episode of prank show Punk'd—on which he has replaced Ashton Kutcher as host—after inviting her to his house to write a track with him.

A source told Hollywoodlife.com: "Justin called Taylor Swift and asked if she would come over to his beach house and help him write a song for Selena Gomez. Taylor agreed and even asked him to open for her at her show that night in Los Angeles."

While they were at his house, Justin convinced Taylor to set off some fireworks with him, one of which "accidentally" landed on a boat which was hosting a wedding party, setting fire to it and meaning the guests—who were all actors—had to swim to shore.

Taylor was unaware of that fact it was all an elaborate stunt, leaving her distraught, until Justin revealed she was on the show.

The source added: "Taylor didn't start crying but was very freaked out and was like 'OMG I'm so sorry! Justin was trying to downplay the situation. When he said she'd been punk'd she started laughing and said, 'How could you do this to me?' (sic)"

The pair made up, however, and Justin later joined Taylor at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where they performed his hit "Baby" together.

Taylor later tweeted: "You think you've heard LOUD screaming in your life.. Then @justinbieber comes out and does a surprise song during your show. Woah. Unreal.(sic)"

Paquiao needs to train very hard - Marquez

marquez training manilaMANILA, Philippines – Visiting Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez said 8-division champion Manny Pacquiao should better be ready for their third face off on November 12.

“My message to Pacquiao, he needs to train very hard because I'm training very hard… like a warrior,” said Marquez in an interview with ABS-CBN’s Dyan Castillejo.

Showing how serious he really is in training, Marquez jogged for 45 minutes near the Quirino Grandstand shortly after his arrival in Manila.

Marquez will challenge Pacquiao for the WBO welterweight title at a 144-pound catchweight.

He said the added weight does not bother him at all.

“I feel great. I'm ready to fight at 144,” said Marquez.

The last time the two fought was in 2008 at the super featherweight division (130 lbs.).

Marquez’s manager Fernando Beltran said they hired weight experts to help the Mexican boxer maintain his speed even with added weight.

“We have in our training camp doctors and training people that we'll help him diet,” said Beltran.

Marquez also visited Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim Thursday afternoon.

Lim handed him a symbolical “Key to the City of Manila.”

"I don't know how to speak Filipino... but mahal ko kayo," he said to the delight of the Filipinos who attended the event.

At the Planet Jupiter Gym in Makati City, Pacquiao continued his training for the November 12 bout.

The Filipino boxing superstar is set to train for 10 weeks to make sure that he’ll be in 100% condition when he battles the Mexican warrior.

“Siyempre proud siya kung sakaling manalo siya. Tayo naman hindi natin papayagan ‘yun kaya tayo nag-eensayo ng mabuti,” said Pacquiao.

(Of course he’ll be one proud guy if he beats be. We’ll try not to let that happen, that is why we’re training hard.)
