Stefani Germanotta (later known as Lady Gaga) was born March 28, 1986, in New York City to an Italian-American family. She attended Convent of the Sacred Heart school and, as a little girl, she remembers singing into a plastic tape recorder to the likes ofCyndi Lauper and Michael Jackson. By age 4, Lady Gaga had taught herself to play the piano, and when she was a teenager, she penned her first song. When she was just 14, she was playing open mike nights at New York’s Bitter End, and by the age of 17, she had been accepted into the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.

Lady Gaga started working the local Lower East Side club scene, performing then-hits like "Beautiful Dirty Rich" while donning her unique stage outfits. When she was 20, she started working for Interscope Records and was busy writing songs for other musical groups such as The Pussycat Dolls.

Callalily

The name denotes a very delicate flower, but Callalily is far from that. In fact, the name doesn’t come from anything floral. It is derived from a local bread that the lead vocalist learned to love just as the group is starting

Callalily is one of the fastest-rising pop rock band in Philippine music industry. After they signed a contract under Sony BMG, the production outfit—which also made names for 6CycleMind, Cueshe , and Brownman Revival—they started releasing hit after hit. In fact, their first single, launched in 2006, entitled Stars is one of the radio station’s most requested songs. Their music video also conquered top music channels such as Myx, where it emerged no.1 and eventually nominated as Favorite Song in the recently concluded Myx Awards 2007. They also received nominations in NU Rock Awards and Awit Awards for the same track at the same year.

Take My Hand, which was their second single, didn’t do as well as the first, only ranking third in the weekly hit charts. Nevertheless, they were able to pull it off with their third single entitledMagbalik. So popular it was that it remained in the first spot for 7 straight weeks, beating Stars, which only lasted for three weeks.

Their music video for Pasan was launched on June 1, 2007, at Myx and instantly landed among the daily top 10, beginning at no. 9. It placed no. 1 seven times for its daily countdown and 6 weeks in the hit charts.

The success of the band can be attributed to the different talents of its members, namely, Kean Edward Uson Cipriano (vocalist), Noemer Alden Caballero Acosta (backup vocals and lead guitarist), Andrew John “Tatsi” Barlis Jamnague (guitarist), Lemuel “Squashy” Maravilla Belaro (drummer), and Aaron Paul Quiñones Ricafrente (bassist and bass guitarist). All are studying in University of Sto. Tomas Music Conservatory, except for Andrew, who is pursuing a degree in culinary arts. Besides singing, they are also gifted songwriters and composers. In fact, majority of the songs in their first album were written by the members. They were stories of their own experiences about young love and life. Thus, it is not surprising that every melody denotes a certain tinge of emotion and sentiments. 

Callalily is also a member of a pool of talented bands called the Soupstar Entertainment. These include Mayonnaise, Sandwich, Protein Shake, Rocksteddy, Kala, Juana, and Imago, to name a few. Their exposure to various gigs and front acts already helped them develop their own audience. Their strong is very much proven by the manner their album sells.

The group, however, is not only into headbanging and rock songs. They have also appeared in a number of commercials such as Lineage II, Clear, and Chippy. They also shared their expertise in music in one of the episodes of Pinoy Dream Academy.

Yet, as they say, every person will always find its way back to his first love. Callalily is busy brewing right now its second album. Though further details are not yet divulged, surely, it will still be worth every music lover’s penny.

Why did you enter show business?
When Tita Anabelle asked me if I wanted to be in this business, I immediately said yes because it’s the perfect timing and the thought of acting and dancing in front of a lot of people kept me exited. And ok yung pay. Hehe. But as time goes by, I learned to really love what I’m doing. I know that there’s a purpose why I’m here. I’m passionate about this and I want to keep on learning.

What do you consider as the turning point in your career?
Playing the role of Vanessa in Kung Mamahalin Mo Lang Ako. It’s my first soap na isa ko sa mga bida.

If you weren’t in showbiz, what kind of career would you have?
I’d probably continue my modeling career. I might be a pre-school teacher or a chef.

What is your biggest frustration/regret?
I wish I can sing really well.

What do most people don’t know about you?
That I’m a really shy person. I’m usually quiet and a loner. I sometimes go to malls by myself. And I still commute. I don’t have a car yet so I take a cab or MRT to tapings and stuff.

What is your most unforgettable moment/experience?
My first TV stint as one of the tagubas in Mulawin. I have worked with the entire cast and staff. It was really amazing.

Maraming chismis and intriga, dapat malakas ang loob…..and just stay grounded….

Sarah Asher Geronimo was born on July 25, 1988 to Father Delfin Geronimo, a retired PLDT employee, and mother Divina, who used to run a beauty parlor in their house at Sta. Cruz, Manila. Sarah is the third of four children with siblings Johna Rizzie, Sunshine Grace, and Ezekiel Gabriel.

Sarah’s first music lessons came from her father. He would have her practice everyday to develop her singing prowess. Sarah first sang on stage at age two at a mall show. Sarah sang “Pasko Na Naman” with Pinky Marquez and Richard Reynoso. At four years old,mother Divine would accompany her to auditions for different TV programs. Sarah became part of kiddie shows Pen-pen de Sarapen (4-6 years old), Ang TV (7-8 years old), and NEXT (8-9 years old). In between auditions, Sarah would perform at shopping malls and hotel lounges. She was one of the performers during the 1995 visit of Pope John Paul II. Sarah at an early age joined hosts of different singing contests the first of which was Tuklas Talino sponsored by the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT).

Star For A Night hosted by Ms. Regine Velasquez was rguably the singing contest that catapulted Sarah to stardom. On March 1, 2003, at age fourteen Sarah
emerged as the grand prize winner of the said singing
competition with her rendition of the song “To Love
You More.” She won P 1 million and a managerial
contract at Viva Artist Agency. The prize money was
spent on tuition fees and the operation of her eldest
sister.

After this turning point what followed are albums,
concerts, her own soap opera, a mainstay at ASAP (a
Sunday variety show), supporting roles in movies,
endorsements, and legions of fans. She became a
popstar, a teen princess, a role model.

Sarah paved the way for the next generation champion

Rihanna reportedly went on a date with Usher this week.


The two singers enjoyed spending time with one another at the Coachella music festival in Los Angeles last weekend and decided to see each other again in New York a few days later.


A source close to Usher said the pair have been friendly for a long time and have shared some "passionate kisses."


They told The Sun newspaper: "They had a really good time together last weekend and wanted to see each other again somewhere private straight after. They've known each other for a long time but it's always been bad timing.


"They've had a few long, passionate kisses. There's definitely a spark between them.


"It would have been too obvious to go somewhere in LA and they were both going back to New York for work commitments."


Earlier this year the "OMG" hitmaker declared his musical interest in the "S&M" star, revealing he wanted to record a duet with her.


He said: "Of course I'd do a track with her—hold on! We've been friends and our teams work together and we've talked about working together in the past, but it could potentially happen.


"I would love to work with her—I think she's an incredible artist."

Lindsay Lohan posts bail after being sentenced to four months in jail

Lindsay Lohan has been bailed from custody, hours after being sentenced to four months in jail.


The Mean Girls actress was given the term as well as 480 hours of community service by Judge Stephanie Sautner in a Los Angeles court. Testimonies were given against her in the case of a $2,200 necklace she allegedly stole from a top-end boutique and evidence was shown that she had violated her probation stemming from a 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) conviction.


Judge Sautner said: "She is to serve 120 days... forthwith. Perhaps she might see how women who have fallen on real hard times have to live and maybe she will change."


However, Lindsay's lawyer Shawn Chapman said she would appeal the ruling, allowing her to leave the Lynwood Correctional Facility and return to her Venice Beach home after her $75,000 bail was paid.


Her grand theft charge was also downgraded to a misdemeanor by the judge, who said she often sees more serious cases get similarly reduced.


After Kamofie & Co jewellery store owner Sofia Kaman gave her case against the 24-year-old star, Judge Sautner agreed that Lindsay had been "brazen."


She said: "I see the intent here. I see a level of brazenness with, 'Let me see what I can get away with here.'"


However, she said she was giving the actress—who pleaded not guilty in court yesterday (April 22)— "an opportunity" by reducing the charge.


Following the proceedings, Lindsay's father Michael Lohan told RadarOnline.com: "I am not very happy. I don't think her case was handled the right way."


According to the website, district attorney Jeanette Meyers will appeal the judge's decision to reduce Lindsay's charge from a grand theft to a misdemeanor.


She is now set to return to court on May 11 for a pre-trial hearing in her misdemeanor case, with the actual trial planned for June 3.
