Adele leads American Music Awards nominations

Adele leads the nominations for the 2011 American Music Awards with four nods. The "Someone Like You" hitmaker—who recently was forced to cancel her American tour due to illness—will compete in the categories Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, and Favorite Album for 21. Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, and Rihanna received three nominations; and Lil Wayne, Taylor, Katy, and Gaga will all compete with Adele in the Artist of the Year category. Beyonce Knowles's baby is due in February 2012. The "Love On Top" singer publicly announced she and husband Jay-Z are expecting their first child together at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, and has now revealed exactly when the baby will be born and spoken of how "blessed" she feels. Speaking on Australia's Sunday Night, she said: "My husband and I have been together for 10 years—all of my 20s—and I just feel like it's time and I'm very grateful that God has blessed me with the biggest gift any human being can have.
